Osteopaths

DAVID MILLARD

David Millard graduated from the British School of Osteopathy having previously completed a degree in Physical Education at Exeter University. He was Chief Medical Officer of London Scottish Rugby Club during their professional years from 1996 to 1999, and attended both the Sydney Paralympics 2000 and Athens Paralympics 2004 as Osteopath to the Great Britain team. He has previously also worked as Osteopath to the West End Musicals “Chicago” and “Fosse” and been involved with both Watford F.C. and Fulham F.C. He is currently Osteopath to both Tottenham Hotspur F.C. and the All England Tennis Championships at Wimbledon. Since 1999 he has also worked as National Lead Osteopath for BUPA Wellness Musculoskeletal Medicine working alongside leading experts in Sports and Orthopaedic Medicine, experienced physiotheraists and podiatrists managing often complex musculoskeletal cases including chronic back and neck pain and occupational disorders. Having completed a post-graduate diploma in sports injuries, he lectures widely in Osteopathic Sports Medicine to Masters degree level and is currently completing his research thesis for his Masters degree in Sports Injuries. He is on the committee of the Osteopathic Sports Care Association.

GUY ASHBURNER

Guy Ashburner is a graduate of the British School of Osteopathy. He is also a fully qualified Fitness and Exercise Consultant, having spent some years working as a personal trainer in West London alongside many health professionals associated with fitness and sport. He specialises in the treatment of spinal dysfunction including headaches, low back pain and sciatica using osteopathic soft tissue techniques, joint articulation and spinal manipulation combined with exercise prescription to help strengthen and maintain good posture and function. Guy also has a Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy (DPO), treats children and babies using cranial osteopathy and currently works at the nationally acclaimed Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) in Central London. Guy believes that the structurally fitter individual can withstand fatigue for longer periods, is better equipped to tolerate physical stress, has a lesser degree of tension, is less prone to injury and is less susceptible to infection and sickness.

ATLANTA KYTE

Atlanta Kyte is a graduate of the British School of Osteopathy, having previously worked as a cellular pathologist at the University of Cape Town. Her areas of interest include work related injuries such as repetitive strain and neck and back pain related to poor ergonomics. She has extensive experience of treating post-traumatic whiplash and chronic back and neck pain and has a special interest in the Osteopathic management of conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Atlanta will always look at the bigger picture when assessing dysfunction, taking account of factors such as lifestyle stresses and diet. As an experienced osteopath she believes in creating an individual management plan designed to empower the patient. She thinks of herself as an all rounder and likes to “find the health” in everybody.

Physiotherapy

ANDREW McKENZIE

Andrew McKenzie is an Australian trained Chartered Physiotherapist having completed his degree at La Trobe University in Victoria where he was awarded the academic prize for a research project in orthopaedics. He is currently working as a rehabilitation specialist two days a week with Tottenham Hotspur F.C. and brings his extensive knowledge of rehabilitation to the David Millard practice. He has previously worked as Physiotherapist to Glasgow Rugby in the Celtic League and as in-house Physiotherapist to Shell UK working on work related problems and advising on ergonomics, back care and manual handling in the workplace. He has a special interest in sports injuries, peripheral joint problems and rehabilitation including core stability and postural and motor control. He is also currently studying for a diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine with the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine (SOM).

Podiatry

ANNE-MARIE O’CONNOR

Anne-Marie O’Connor is one of the leading Sports Podiatrists in the country, providing podiatry and gait analysis to many top British athletes and sports teams including Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham Football Clubs and Bath, Northampton and Borders Rugby Clubs. She uses video technology to analyse running and walking patterns and prescribes orthotics where appropriate. She is regularly invited to speak at Conferences and teaches lower limb biomechanics and aspects of podiatry on the Sports and Orthopaedic Medicine Course for doctors at the London Hospital.

Sports Medicine

DR. JULIAN REDHEAD

Dr. Julian Redhead is a leading Trauma Consultant based at St. Mary’s Hospital. He has a special interest in musculoskeletal medicine and is currently Academy Doctor for Chelsea F.C. He is able to provide injections or referrals to MRI etc if needed.

Sports Massage

NOEL CAMBERLAIN

Noel Chamberlain has been qualified for over 10 years. He specialises in Sports, Therapeutic and Remedial Massage. He specialises in the treatment of postural problems and as a therapeutic aid to relieving tension. Sports massage is also highly effective in the prevention of soft tissue injuries and to aid recovery after exercise.
